Sigurdsson And Calvert-Lewin On The Wings – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Everton Line-up To Face Crystal Palace

Predicted Everton Line-up To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League

Everton will look to get their faltering season back on track when they clash against bottom feeders Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Toffees find themselves in 15th place in the Premier League table after 11 games, following their 3-2 win over Watford before the international break. That was the club’s first win in 9 games in all competitions. Caretaker manager David Unsworth will be hoping that he continues to lead the team back towards the upper half of the table.

Team News

Teenage midfielder Tom Davies is a slight doubt for the game due to a hamstring problem, while defender Cuco Martina is ruled out due to a concussion. Midfielders Ross Barkley and James McCarthy are also not available for selection due to hamstring problems. Defenders Ramiro Funes Mori and Seamus Coleman are long-term absentees along with winger Yannick Bolasie.

Here’s how the Toffees could line up against the Eagles at the Selhurst Park on Saturday;

Manager: David Unsworth

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Jordan Pickford (GK)

The England international was in fine form during the international break for the Three Lions. Will want to carry that form against the Eagles.

Jordan Pickford

Jonjoe Kenny (RB)

The youngster has been given a run of games in the senior side by Unsworth since taking over. Should retain his spot at right-back.

Michael Keane (CB)

The former Burnley man hasn’t been able to find the same form that made him a star last season. Will be keen on improving.

Phil Jagielka (CB)

Partnering Keane in the heart of the defence should be captain Phil Jagielka, with Welshman Ashley Williams likely to be relegated to the bench.

Leighton Baines (LB)

At left-back, it should be Everton’s ever-present defender Leighton Baines. Will need to be on his toes against the likes of Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha.

Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

In the centre of the park, Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye is a constant fixture. And that is extremely unlikely to change against Palace.

Beni Baningime (CM)

The 19-year old Congolese midfielder has been heavily involved in the senior team since Unsworth’s appointment. Should continue to feature in the middle of the park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (RW)

With Tom Davies a doubt, there might be a change in formation, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin might get a starting berth on the right flank, after scoring a goal by coming on from the bench against Watford.

Wayne Rooney (CAM)

The former Manchester United man hasn’t been able to go on a consistent goal-scoring run. Needs to step up in order to get his team on track.

Wayne Rooney

Gylfi Sigurdsson (LW)

On the left flank, club-record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson should feature from the get-go. Hasn’t scored a goal or assist in the Premier League for his new club and will be itching to set that straight.

Oumar Niasse (ST)

Has been impressive each time he has been called upon. Scored against Watford before the international break to take his tally to 4 goals in 6 league games. Will be keen on adding more.
