Reports from Daily Mirror say that Manchester City scouts were in Veltins-Arena to watch the 19 year old youngster Julian Draxler, who has drawn the attention of City manager Roberto Mancini and the Italian wants to sign the talented midfielder in the January transfer window.

Schalke’s Julian Draxler is in Manchester City’s radar

Draxler joined Schalke a decade ago as a youngster and after plying his his trade at the club’s academy he made his debut on 15 January 2011 in a 0–1 loss to Hamburger SV and at that time he was the 4th youngster played ever to play in Bundesliga. Draxler scored his first goal for Schalke in German cup Competition DFB-Pokal at the dying seconds to win the game for his side. The youngster made his International debut against Switzerland this year.

Draxler has been a revelation since breaking into the Schalke 04 first team last year and so far has 12 goals from his 78 appearances for the club.

Premier league champions Manchester City have not made a great start to their campaign and their influential midfielder David Silva looks out of sort making City to struggle for goal scoring chances in recent weeks. And though Draxler is not anywhere close to the Spaniard’s talents, the kid is got potential and could be an influential star in used rightly.

The Germany international has some skill set in his bag and could add a different flare to the wing play of Manchester City. Draxler and has been a bog part of Schalke’s strong start to the season, though a nasty wrist injury suffered at the beginning of this month has seen him miss recent weeks, including the 2-0 away victory over Arsenal in the Champions League last week.
