Should Arsenal Look Into Plan B, If They Miss Out On Striker Targets?

What started as a bright week for Arsenal fans, is suddenly turning the way it used to be. The big money moves linked with the Gunners turning out into bitter transfer stories. Well Arsenal fans, get ready to be shattered once more. After a long period of hope, reports now have emerged that Arsenal have not held any talks with Fiorentina regarding the transfer of Jovetic and Higuain has already agreed to move to Juventus. At least as of now the story remains unchanged with Arsenal trying to bring in a host of big names at the start of the season and ending up with an empty hand.

But will this stop Wenger from buying quality players? This is the right time to do and it is definitely not the end of the world if they miss out on Jovetic and Higuain. So the fans should not drop their shoulders yet and look forward to the other candidates who may brace the Arsenal jersey in the forward role in case the above mentioned two choose to remain with other clubs. Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis have once again stated that this year money will be spent, or at least they are allowing folks to believe they want such a top player, possibly before settling for a modestly-priced imitation.

Who are the three possible options reaming for Arsenal? They are not realistic targets, but they are well and truly a possibility.

Real Madrid, Benzema, Higuain, Ronaldo
How about Benzema for Higuain?

Karim Benzema

If Arsenal cannot rope in on one of the Madrid striker, then the other one is not a bad choice either. The French forward certainly has the class to match any best side in the world and Arsenal would welcome this move. His problem in Madrid is playing as a second fiddle to Ronaldo and thus he wants a move out with the English Premier League as the possible destination. But if Arsenal have to bring him in then they have to snatch him from Manchester United who are also said to be interested in him.

Wayne Rooney

Rumours on Rooney are definitely gathering pace with the English striker determined to leave Manchester United this summer. Although Wenger has denied any Arsenal contact for the striker, you might remember him saying “I don’t know who Santi Cazorla is” two days before signing the Spaniard last summer and that was not Wenger’s first time. So not all that comes from Wenger’s mouth can be believed when it comes to both transfer ins and outs. £25m is expected to do the trick for Rooney, a transfer which should benefit both the player and the club alike.

Christian Bentecke with 15 goals has been Aston Villa's Saviour

Christian Benteke

Doesn’t this looks sound more like a possibility? The Aston Villa man has been an absolute sensation this season. In his debut season in the Premier League he has netted 19 times and helped his side to keep afloat. At 22 years of age, he is a prospect for the future and Arsenal could reap hugely from him. And the player’s recent comments suggest that he may like the possibility of making a move away from Villa park and although he has not stated anything about Arsenal, the striker is keeping his options open.
