Shocking: Manchester United Goalie wants to leave Old Trafford this summer

According to a recent set of reports, Manchester United’s goalkeeping crisis will continue to make the headlines, as Sam Johnstone has now openly expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer. The third-choice keeper has been away on various short-term spells and is at present wanted by a host of clubs on loan.

Further, the 22 year old superstar has stated that he wants to get first-team experience elsewhere, as it would not be possible for him to be part of the starting eleven any time soon.

The report came from The Mail, which had also made speculations that, as many as four goalies were all set to leave United prior to the closing of the current transfer window.

The news could be mean that new signing Sergio Romero would be the only recognized shot-stopper available to manager Louis van Gaal.

Former Barcelona star, Victor Valdes will be allowed to leave Manchester and Anders Lindegaard has been also told the same. Spanish international David de Gea is still being linked to Real Madrid, though a deal has not been materialized yet.

Though, Johnstone is surely not as good as De Gea, the Dutch manager would know the importance of retaining yet another quality keeper as his side will return to Champions League football this term.
