The deficiencies of Alberto Moreno defensively have left Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp with no alternative but to find a replacement/competitor for the Spaniard in the transfer window.
While exciting youngster Ben Chilwell has been linked, the negotiations seem to be dragging on much to the dismay of the Liverpool contingent. If reports from the French daily L’equipe are to be believed, the Merseyside club has already identified Jordan Amavi as a possible alternative to replace Moreno and have contacted the player’s agent.
In a campaign which saw Aston Villa drop down the top tier of English football, Amavi was one of the few bright spots. The 22 year old put in some impressive performances thus catching the eye of several clubs across Europe. The report from L’Equipe further goes on to speculate that a deal could materialize if Liverpool agree to shell out £11 million for the left-back.
