Now Metro has reported that the club is looking to raid German outfit Wolfsburg in order to sign £22 million defender Ricardo Rodriguez. The 23-year-old defender was linked with a move to Arsenal at the beginning of the transfer window but the deal did not materialize. The versatile Switzerland international can play either as a full back or wing back and seems to fit Conte’s plan.
Chelsea’s current left-back Cesar Azpilicueta is naturally a right back but has filled in the alternate position well. Conte wants Azpilicueta to get back to his primary position and Rodriguez to take up the left back position. The player is also reported to be keen on a Premier League switch and a £22 million bid could make that happen.
