After Jose Mourinho joined Manchester United, it was expected that the Portuguese manager will add some muscle to the team and he has already taken the first step by signing Eric Bailly from Villareal.
However according to Sunday People, Bailly is not the last of them and Mourinho is keen to add more strength to the defense and there has been linking of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United regarding this matter. Now the report states that the clubs could enter into a swap deal with Matteo Darmian headed the other way.
The Italian defender had started the season well and looked like he has slotted right in to the United system but as the season progressed he began to struggle for form. While Mourinho is aware of Darmian’s talent, the manager wants someone with more physicality in the defense and is reportedly willing to swap Matic with Darmian. This could only mean that we may see a new right-back at United next season as Matic is predominantly a midfielder.
