It is now being reported that Chelsea fans in Kiev were ambushed by balaclava-clad thugs, prior to the game against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League. Around 30 supporters were attacked in the Ukrainian capital, some hours before they left the Shato Brewery bar just off Independence Square. Many of the fans had bruises and were left covered in blood, with one being hospitalized.

The reason for the attack is still unknown, as it was confirmed that the group did not provoke anyone around midnight on Monday. The thugs charged at the fans of the west London club, including women and the elderly and knocked them down with kicks and punches for no reason.

A Blues’ fan said, “It was orchestrated. Five guys turned up at the pub and sussed us out. One was texting at the bar and they were obviously lying in wait to have a dig.

The champions of England sold 1,100 tickets for Tuesday nights game at the Olympic Stadium, but such unnecessary attacks on the away fans is quite shameful to say the least.
