Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka has been a subject of interest from Liverpool over the last few months. However, it has emerged that Liverpool is not the only ones interesting in the 23-year-old. Arsenal apparently is moving up the pecking order with a humongous £33.7 million pound offer along with a £120,000 per week wage offer.
Xhaka has become an integral part of the Gladbach and Swiss squad and would be a welcome addition to the talent that occupies the Premier League, irrespective of the side he chooses. While Klopp would be disappointed to lose out on the midfielder, given Arsenal’s recent past with transfers, it is hard to believe what stages the negotiations are actually in.
The Reds have lacked a quality central midfielder for some time now and Xhaka could add some much-needed meat to the side’s midfield along with the likes of Henderson and Can. With the price hovering in the range £30-35 million, Gladbach would be more than willing to part ways and it comes down to either of these sides convincing the Xhaka camp to sign for them.
