Despite that, former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville wasn’t all that impressed as he said that United’s upcoming clash against Liverpool could become a game equivalent to pub-football standard.
Van Gaal however wasn’t impressed with Neville’s comments and said, “The former player of United? That’s an English expression? Hmm. Maybe.
“He can say everything because he is an ex-legend, but as an ex-legend, or a legend, you have to know what you are saying.
“You can interpret: make an interpretation of that.
“It’s not so difficult to make an interpretation, when I say he has to pay attention to his words.”
United’s win against Southampton made it five wins in a row, a feat United never achieved in last two years. Their next opponents are Liverpool, who are probably their biggest rivals and the Dutchman would like his team to continue their good work and make 6 wins out of 6.
