Manchester United Transfer Update
With Louis Van Gaal’s diminishing popularity, it looks to be only a matter of time before a replacement walks in through the Old Trafford doors. Most popular name doing the rounds is Pep Guardiola. The current Bayern Munich manager has not renewed his contract yet and many expect that the Catalan coach will leave Bayern Munich after this season.
Guardiola is also said earlier this month that the role at Old Trafford will appeal to every manager in the planet, hinting that he would take up the opportunity if given. Now it has come to light that if he happens to be the replacement for Van Gaal, he will aim to make Alexis Sanchez his first signing.
Guardiola has been a big fan of the Chilean and was the one to bring him from Udinese to Barcelona. If he lands the United job a bid for the Chilean is a definite possibility. A deal however, is not.
A Spanish report from Don Ballon also states that the ex-Barcelona coach has already begun drawing up a list of potential transfer targets at United. It is also been discussed that he will be willing to take a year of sabbatical to let Van Gaal run down his contract.
