The Spanish trio of Juan Mata, David De Gea and Ander Herrera have grabbed spotlight over the course of the troubled season with their blossoming friendship on and off the field. Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ander Herrera revealed his opinion on life in England, the troubled season, managerial changes the league and the difference in footballing ideologies in England and Spain. Of course, despite having a number of topics to talk on, the midfielder did not miss an eyelid when asked about Juan Mata whom he admires, showering much deserved praise on the magical Mata.
“When we’re in the recovery pool, I tell him: ‘Juan, you play so well with this little, fragile body of yours!”. Mata understands the game well, knows what he’s going to do before getting the ball, when to play one touch or not.”
“He also knows what to say and when to be quiet. Juan is someone very intelligent, and of course, with a magical left foot to play this sport.”
Both Mata and Herrera have been in and out of the team under Louis Van Gaal despite performing and reports emerged midway through the season that the duo were on the lookout for greener pastures in terms of playing time. A number of teams across England and Europe would hugely benefit from the quality of the duo and should the trend continue, they might be forced to leave and there will be no shortage of suitors.
