Liverpool are looking to sign Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen and thus have made a formal offer for the same to the Catalan Club.
Reports suggest that the Reds are only willing to pay €10m for the Belgian player, which is pretty low in Barca’s point of view and thus the Spanish club is waiting for West Ham to make their offer, who are said to have raised the stakes in order to sign the player.
Further, Chelsea too are believed to be interested in signing the player, however the Blues have not made any formal approach to the club for the same.
Vermaelen joined Barcelona in 2014 from Arsenal, however, his first season in Spain was filled with injuries and thus he was unavailable through the season. While his second season had less struggles with injury and more with regards to his dilapidated form wherein he failed to impress the club as well as the fans starting just 10 league games of the season.
