Currently, on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach Andreas Christensen has impressed Germany with his game. Christensen’s loan deal with the German club ends in 2017, however with the way things are going on one can see that there is a possibility that the player may stay at Germany for a longer period.
However, an absence of a clause may be a problem for Gladbach as the player’s contract with parent club Chelsea extends till 2020. This may seem like Christensen may be staying at Chelsea after his loan spell with Gladbach gets over, albeit he has more game time.
This may not be the first time that Borussia Mönchengladbach will be trying to buy a player after a successful loan spell, as earlier Gladbach convinced Chelsea to let go of Eden Hazard’s brother Thorgan after an excellent loan spell.
Reports suggest that Gladbach are ready to bid for the player and may value the player at 15m Euros that is 11.9m Pounds.
