As such Griezmann has been linked with Chelsea move for a long time now, however their release clause of £60million is deemed to be very high even for Roman Abramovich. The transfer if gone ahead with will be the biggest transfer involving a very heavy price in the Premier League history as till date the highest amount paid for a player in the premier league was by Manchester United for Angel Di Mario at £59.7m.

However Chelsea’s burden may get reduced if Eden Hazard deicides to make a move to Atletico Madrid and this will turn into a exchange and not just a transfer. While Chelsea will be paying £60million as a release clause for Griezmann, the Blues are hoping to generate close to £80 million for the player even though his form has not been all that impressive this season.
