This season Mathieu Debuchy has made only 2 appearances in Arsenal jersey playing a mere 142 minutes of professional football. One would be correct to assume that his time at the Emirates is coming to an end. It has been, in fact, reported for few months now that the Frenchman will be moving out of the club but the destination was unknown. Until now.
Gazetta, the Italian sports newspaper reported yesterday that the AS Roma are in talk with Arsenal over a move for the player. Initially, he will move with a loan deal with Roma holding the option to buy the player between €5-6m at the end of the season.
One obstacle on the way is Roma’s interest for El Shaarawy, who is currently on loan at Monaco. AS Roma can afford only another non-Italian player and will have to wait till the deal with AC Milan makes a conclusion. Meanwhile, Debuchy may have to wait his turn, just like in Arsenal.
