Sheffield United must consider signing this teenage Premier League sensation on loan

Why Sheffield United must take Brahim Diaz on loan in January

As per a report from Marca, European champions Real Madrid are plotting a move for Manchester City starlet Brahim Diaz.

The 19-year-old starred for Manchester City in their 2-0 victory over Fulham in the Carabao Cup earlier this week, scoring two goals.

However, Brahim Diaz’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season and come January, he would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

As per the report, City have been trying for months to convince the teenager to put pen to paper on a new contract but as things stand, Diaz is yet to extend his stay with the Premier League champions.

Brahim Diaz, 19, has made just two appearances in the Carabao Cup this season. He is yet to play in the Premier League, which is understandable given the presence of Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez in the wing department.

Looking at the current scenario, it is hard to see Diaz receiving opportunities in the Premier League, meaning he will have to be content with appearances in the cup competitions. But with January fast approaching, he could do a good job by moving out on loan to get regular minutes under his belt. If that’s the case, Sheffield United must sign Diaz on loan in January.

Sheffield United have made a fantastic start to the new campaign and are currently placed second in the Championship table, just a point off table-toppers, Norwich City. The Blades have impressed with their gameplay, playing an attractive and dynamic brand of football.

Sheffield are doing quite well at the moment, despite losing one of their creative forces in David Brooks in the summer. Brooks, 21, joined Bournemouth but Wilder failed to bring in a replacement for the talented Wales international. Wilder could certainly get a like-for-like replacement for Brooks in Manchester City starlet Brahim Diaz albeit on a temporary basis.

Predominantly a left winger, Diaz can also play either on the right or in the hole behind the striker. He is quick and has wonderful ball control, helping him dribble past his opponents.

His ability to shoot and pass with either foot makes him a huge threat for the opposition defenders. The Spain Under-21 international is a technically gifted player and his arrival at Bramall Lane would seriously boost Sheffield United’s creative options.

A player of Diaz’s talent and quality would be an asset for Wilder’s Blades, who are surely aiming for Premier League promotion this season.
