Sharp And Brooks To Lead The Line – Strongest 3-5-2 Sheffield United Line-Up To Face Ipswich Town

Predicted Sheffield United Line-up To Face Ipswich Town In The EFL Championship

Sheffield United have made a great start to the season and have a “winnable” home game at the weekend against Ipswich Town.

Another three points for the Blades would put them on cloud nine and make their dream of going from League One to the Premier League in little over a year look very real indeed. Their familiar 3-5-2 formation should be in evidence one again.

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Chris Wilder

GK – Jamal Blackman

The ‘keeper on loan from Chelsea was earmarked for a successful season and; so far so good! He should make another start here and is well on his way to achieving Premier League football.

RWB – Kieron Freeman

With Baldock out injured, Kieron Freeman will be itching to prove a point to his manager. Should get a start here.

CB – Chris Basham

Still going strong for United, Basham is a vital member of this settled squad and should line up once more in the back line.

Chris Basham

CB – Cameron Carter-Vickers

The youngster is coming along nicely in this defence and could make a 5th league appearance for the season. The more he plays, the better he gets.

CB – Jack O’Connell

Definitely a player going the right way, the 23-year-old can slot into his usual spot in the three-man central defence.

LWB – Enda Stevens

The former Portsmouth player has slotted in nicely and once again provides good stability for this settled team of players. Width from Stevens is so important, even at home, with the three recognised midfielders kept busy in the middle of the park.

Enda Stevens

RCM – John Lundstram

Another player who is now becoming a regular, Lundstram forms a part of a well-balanced central area, with the width mostly coming from Baldock.

CM – Samir Carruthers

With Coutts out suspended, Samir Carruthers could get a start here in central midfield, alongside Lundstram and Fleck.

LCM – John Fleck

Some more free-kick magic wouldn’t go amiss in this game, with every goal and every point the Blades can eek out being crucial.

Billy Sharp

SS – David Brooks

Although Duffy is another option; the 20-year-old must be a serious option here, having already played 9 times in the Championship this season.

ST – Billy Sharp

Assuming the influential striker is available once more, he will definitely start up front. In Donaldson, Evans and Clarke, the Blades have plenty of options in this position but Chris Wilder knows how important a good bench is and so they should not sway his decision to include the club hero.
