Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Arturo Vidal have turned out to be super partners which have led to several goals for the Catalans.

Prior to the Chilean’s arrival at Camp Nou, Jordi Alba consistently provided Messi with the assists and that partnership between the two impacted many of Barcelona’s games.

However, in the last outing, Vidal provided another assist to the Argentine, who scored his 14th league goal of the season. The game against Granada was Quique Setien’s first game in charge of the Blaugranas.

Though his men were unconvincing, star forward Messi rose to the occasion once again and handed the manager a win on his debut. Speaking of the goal, it was beautiful coordination between the team as the move was initiated by the six-time Balon d’Or himself.

He found Frenchman Antoine Griezmann with a pass, who then pushed the ball towards Vidal. The former Bayern Munich man then gave a masterful pass to Messi, who is dangerous and can never miss from those situations. He rolled the ball gently into the 10-men opponent’s goal.

With this, Vidal has provided 7 assists to the Argentine since his arrival in the summer of 2018. Out of the seven he provided last season in all competitions, 6 of them were to the Rosario-born star. And thus, resulted in providing one more than Alba, who had assisted Messi times in the previous campaign.

Yet, we cannot compare Vidal and Alba, who are totally different players. The Spaniard is a defender, while Vidal plays in the midfield and thus making it easier for him to find the talisman more often.

Despite being linked with a move away from Camp Nou in the past few months, the 32-year-old midfielder has done what he does best for the Spanish giants. And the fans would be expecting this partnership to flourish and become more successful in the coming days.

Especially, with Luis Suarez’s injury, it would be good to see Vidal play higher up the pitch and support the likes of their star-studded forward line. And, Barcelona fans would want to see the Arturo Vidal and Lionel Messi partnership to continue throughout the season.
