Setback for Liverpool as Target Signs for a Spanish Side

It seems now that Premier League clubs Liverpool and Aston Villa could possibly lose out on their target Aymen Abdennour, who looks all set to move to the La Liga, according to recent claims from Spain.

The Monaco defender was wanted by a number of big European clubs, with Villa boss Tim Sherwood looking to strengthen his back-line. Brendan Rodgers too was looking to win titles and would have loved to add more stars to his defence. The 26-year-old centre-back looks all set to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer after they were dumped out of the Champions League.

However, Valencia, who beat Monaco 4-3 on aggregate to progress to the group stages are the club who will now benefit the most from the whole situation. Super Deporte has further stated that a deal is close to being agreed, with Abdennour all set to replace Argentine international Nicolas Otamendi, who moved to Manchester City earlier this month.
