Serie A Outfit Rejected Manchester United’s Late Bid for Attacking Midfielder

It is now being claimed by reports in Italy that Louis van Gaal’s side had made a very late bid of £29.1m for attacker Felipe Anderson, which was rejected last month by Serie A side Lazio. The 22 year old Brazilian international was wanted by the Red Devils previously as well, as the Dutch manager is a firm admirer of the youngster and wanted to strengthen his squad.

The United boss let a long list of attacking players leave the club in the summer transfer window and is now in need of more quality stars. However, 19 year old Frenchman Anthony Martial was the only main addition up front, who completed his move to Old Trafford on deadline day from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

According to the recent report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com, the Manchester based side were quite keen on signing Anderson as well, though a second bid of around £29.1m was rejected for the forward one day before the transfer window officially closed.
