AC Milan have already beaten Catania 3-1 in Friday’s only match. They move up to the 7th place in the table.
Juventus face Torino in the Derby of Turin and they need to get back to winning ways immediately as any other slip up could see 2nd place Napoli going ahead of them.
After not losing a game in over an year, Juventus finally lost to Inter Milan 3 weeks back and that followed by a loss to AC Milan last week. Their lead at the top is cut only to 2 points by high flying Napoli.
Juve’s Club director Beppe Marotta said :
“Last year we won the championship with our never-say-die attitude, From there we’ve continued our positive run and we’re still top of the league as it stands. We know that we’ve got experienced competition and we can’t help but acknowledge the value of our opposition. The title race is open and it’s our duty to believe we can do it.”
It will be very interesting to see the XI which will start for Juve as they have that big Champions League match against Shakhtar in the mid week. Will Juve field in another second string team like they did for the Milan match or will they start their main XI?
In the first match on Sunday, Napoli face rock bottom Prescia.
They beat Cagliari in a close contest last week with Hamsik scoring the only goal of the game. They would want to win with a bigger number this weekend as they are 19 points ahead of their opponents of Sunday already with only 14 games played.
There are 6 games at 14:00 GMT on Sunday and the big ones are 4th place Inter hosting Palermo. They are winless in 3 after their famous win against Juve which ended the defending champions’ winning streak. They face a Palermo side which is 15th in the table and struggling.
The most exciting match of the weekend is surely to be the match between Lazio and Parma. Both the teams are in the top half of the table and eyeing to keep pace with the European spots.
The weekend ends with a late Sunday kick off where 3rd placed Fiorentina host mid table Sampdoria. Fio are currently on an 8 match unbeaten streak and will hope to put pressure on the top 2.
