Serie A Team Of The Week – Tevez, Balotelli And Mexes Involved

Juventus pick 3 points against Inter

In a week that saw Juventus take another step closer to the Scudetto, breaking Parma’s impressive run along the way, and Seedorf saving his job with an impressive win in Firenze, the attackers had the superior word as our writer Haytham Mohamed picks this week’s team of the round!

GK – Simone Scuffet (Udinese): The young keeper continues to impress, this time he frustrated the Nerazzurri with some great reflexes, to help Udinese to a valuable away point.

Defender – Maurizio Domizzi (Udinese): Dealt well with the threat of Jonathan and showed a great sense of anticipation and awareness.

Defender – Dario Dainelli (Chievo): Calm and assuring, leaving no chance for the Bologna forward to threat Agazzi all game long.

Defender – Philippe Mexes (AC Milan): One of the few positive games for the French this season, scored his goal with a good follow, but more importantly dealt well with the pace of the Viola attack.

Defender – Giovanni Marchese (Genoa): Good game by the ex Catania defender, despite playing in unusual central back position, still,he looked comfortable there and combined well with Portanova to earn Genoa the three points versus Lazio.

Jose Callejon (Napoli): Destroyed the much helpless Catania with his bursts , as he assisted Zapata twice & bagged one himself.

Gervinho (AS Roma): One of those games where Ivorian can’t be stopped, assisting both goals to Florenzi & Destro after great solo efforts.

Jonathan De Luca (Atalanta): Took the place of the injured Moralez, the Italian impressed as he scored one and assisted another to German Denis to help Atalanta continue their impressive run lately.

Carlos Tevez (Juventus): Regained back the “top scorer” from Immobile after a man of the match performance, scoring twice but unfortunately seeing a yellow card that will see him miss the San Paolo clash.

Mario Balotelli (AC Milan): Super Mario looked motivated after being left on the bench earlier this week, contributing in every attack & scoring a trademark freekick, to help Seedorf safe his seat, for now.

Duvan Zapata (Napoli): Given a rare start by Benitez, the young Colombian capitalized by scoring twice and proving that he can by relied on when needed.

Honorable mentions: Alberto Paloschi & Luca Rigoni (Chievo), Renan (Sampdoria), German Denis (Atalanta), Gabriel Paletta(Parma) and Daniele Padelli (Torino).
