In a week where all anticipated Juventus vs Roma, It was referee Rocchi that made the headlines and not the players of the two teams as the “Bianconeri” broke away for the first time at the leadership this season, but who was the best this week in the “peninsula”? let’s see:

Rafael (Hellas Verona): Produced a number of mesmerizing saves to keep his team alive in the game, if not for him Verona wouldn’t have reach the dying minutes till their goal with a clean sheet.

Nenad Tomovic (Fiorentina): Very lively down the right flank, always pushing forward and his goal with an amazing solo run is a great example to this.

Ignazio Abate (AC Milan): When in his day, he’s one of the best fullbacks in Italy, owned the right flank at the Meazza and was always a trouble going forward for the Chievo defense.

Lorenzo Tonelli (Empoli): Another impressive game for the fullback, this time with a strong defensive display that he crowned with a goal with a wonderful header, to earn his team a famous victory against Palermo.

Mario Rui (Empoli): Another Empoli defender who makes it to our team, the left fullback was a key player for his team, always involved in the attack, assisting  the first goal and creating numerous other.

Andrea Bertolacci (Genoa): The mastermind behind Genoa win in the “Tardini”, put his touch on every play and was involved in the play leading to the killer goal by Matri.

Antonio Candreva (Lazio): Scored a goal and assisted another and was on a fine form today the international winger. Lazio need him to show more of this form.

Mirko Valdifiori (Empoli): The central midfielder played an excellent game today, assisting his mates twice and setting the tempo for the “Azzurri” today.

Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina): The Cuadrado of last season is back! scored a trademark goal with a wicked shot and was the man for the Viola to hammer Inter in Firenze.

Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli): Finally broke his draught and made peace with the fans with a goal and an assist and an overall impressive showing to help Napoli overcome Torino at the “San Paolo”.

Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo): His movements were lethal in the defenses of the Laziali, still his double wasn’t enough for his team against a determined Lazio this Sunday.

Honorable mentions: Carlos Tevez (Juventus), Rafael Marquez and Panagiotis Tachtsidis (Hellas Verona), Tomas Rincon (Genoa) & Khouma Babacar (Fiorentina).
