Serie A Team Of The Week After Round Four

Serie A

As Juventus and Roma continued their hassle at the top of the table, Serie A had a rather exciting midweek games. So who was the best in those? let’s see:

Marco Sportiello (Atalanta): No goalkeeper this round did what Bardi or Perin did in the last couple of rounds, but the Atalanta goalie stand out because of his impressive penalty save from Palacio and a good showing against a vicious Inter at the Meazza. A Good replacement for Consigli.

Kamil Glik (Torino): Defined the word leader, as he led his team with example to an important away win in Sardinia also scoring his team’s winning goal.

Daniele Gastaldello & Alessio Romagnoli (Sampdoria): The two centerbacks of the “Doriani” had an impressive game both defensively were they formed a solid partnership in the back, and offensively by scoring their team’s brace.

Marcos Alonso (Fiorentina): One of the few bright spots on a rather dull night for the Viola against Sassuolo, never stopped trying and always a threat down the left flank.

Arturo Vidal (Juventus): King “Artur” is back, and with style as usual! Scored a brace and marshaled the defense showing no signs of his previous injury. Impressive!

Panagiotis Kone (Udinese): Excellent work rate for the attacking midfielder, the Greek fits well in the hole linking the attack with the midfield, pulling all the right strings for Stramacioni’s men.

Jose Callejon (Napoli): The Spaniard finally showed glimpse for the Callejon of last term, scored with a trademark cool finish and assisted another for Koulibaly, but his effortless work rate he showed in this game is what the Neoplitani really needs.

Pablo Osvaldo (Inter): His introduction early was a true game changer, scored with a wonderful volley and he was unplayable, dribbling past defenders and always moving into the right spots. On fire!

Alessandro Matri (Genoa): Looks to be regaining his touch again in Genoa, scoring a brace that has his style and sneakiness written all over them. A promising partnership with Pinilla is in the making.

Andrea Belotti (Palermo): Scored a brace against the club that snubbed him in the past to exercise his revenge on the best possible way. Showed good movements and striker positioning that can make him the “Rosanero” first option in the attack in the coming games.

Honorable mentions:

Dodo (Inter), Fernando Torres (AC Milan), Sebastian Giovinco (Juventus), Nenad Tomovic (Fiorentina) & Artur Ionita (Verona).
