Sensational Kane – The Best And The Worst Rated Tottenham Players From The Huge 4-1 Win vs Liverpool

Full Time: Tottenham 4-1 Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur brushed aside a woeful Liverpool side, beating them 4-1, to register their second home win of the season in the Premier League, on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were off to a brilliant start, as talismanic striker Harry Kane put them ahead just four minutes into the game, before Son Heung-Min doubled their advantage only 8 minutes later, finishing strongly past Simon Mignolet from Kane’s cross.

The Reds hit back through Mohamed Salah in the 24th minute, but Spurs regained their two-goal advantage, as Dele Alli struck a powerful volley on the verge of half-time to make it 3-1. And Kane put the result beyond any shadow of a doubt, scoring his second and Tottenham’s 4th, eleven minutes after the break.

The result sees Tottenham stay in 3rd place in the league table, level on points with second-placed Manchester United, but behind on goal difference.

Here we take a look at how the Tottenham players fared on the day:

Tottenham Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris – 7/10

Made a spectacular stop to deny Philippe Coutinho in the second period and a few more important stops soon after.

Toby Alderweireld – 7/10

Immovable in the backline for the North Londoners. Dominant force in the air, strong on the ground.

Davinson Sanchez – 7/10

Looks like a really fine prospect for Tottenham. Keeps on improving with every game and put in another solid display, apart from one small hairy moment.

Jan Vertonghen – 7/10

Could not keep up with Salah for Liverpool’s opener, but made some very important blocks throughout the game. Had his shot blocked, the rebound of which lead to Kane’s second goal.

Kieran Trippier – 7/10

Got another assist to his tally, setting up the opening goal for Kane. Was sound and reliable at the back, dealing quite comfortably with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Harry Winks – 7.5/10

Has grabbed his opportunities with both hands and put in another solid performance in the holding midfield role. Did everything right all game.

Dele Alli – 8.5/10

Played in a deeper role alongside Winks, but that did not stop him from getting forward. Not lacking for effort and capped the performance with a well-struck goal.

Serge Aurier – 6/10

Playing as a left wing-back to counter Salah’s pace, the former PSG man was beaten by the Egyptian for the goal, but improved with time.

Christian Eriksen – 8/10

May not have contributed to a goal directly, but was Tottenham’s chief string-puller. Exploited the space between the lines very well and caused plenty of problems to the visitors. Was taken off for a standing ovation.

Son Heung-Min – 8.5/10

Took his goal really well with a first-time finish and Liverpool found it really hard to contain him. Should have had a second, but hit the woodwork.

Harry Kane – 9/10

Sensational. Opened the scoring in the first half and then set Son up with a brilliant cross. Showed his predatory instincts to pounce on the rebound for his second. World-class? Probably yes!

Substitutes

Moussa Sissoko – 6/10

On for Son in the 69th minute. Showed good energy.

Eric Dier – N/A

On for Eriksen with less than 10 minutes left.

Fernando Llorente – N/A

Replaced Kane in the dying moments.
