We have witnessed the big amount of young talents who currently are delighting the world with their skills and personality on the field.

Every day it’s more common to see young lads become big figures on their teams (Rashford for example) and that’s why right now most of the big teams are trying to acquire youth stars with good potential.

Manchester United is a team that has historically a good record with youngsters, mostly under the lead of Sir Alex Ferguson. And now, despite Sir Alex’s departure, Manchester has kept this policy of discovering and nurturing the young stars.

Regardless of having Rashford in its roster, Manchester are linked with a  Spaniard winger, Keita Balde Diao; a guy who has delighted Europe since his debut with his current team, Lazio, a couple of seasons ago.

Balde Diao used to be part of the Barcelona academy, but after many loans, he decided to stay with Lazio, where he scored an impressive number of goals as soon as he landed in Italy. Big European teams appeared interested in the wonder-kid, but he just stayed put with Roma; however, this situation is very likely to change either this January or next summer, as the youngster may opt to make the next step in his career.

Keita Balde Diao is currently with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations

So, just in case you don’t know this guy, here we’ll try to discover his strengths and weaknesses.

Keita is a very talented player, with a lot of skills on the offensive end of the pitch.  He can play at both flanks of the field with great ease and versatility, and he can also be deployed as a striker or as a second striker. He has good ball control that enables him to change his pace with extremely ease. The youngster also has a shoot-at-sight instinct and his finish is not bad either.

On the other side, he is still young and has things to improve, starting with his defensive skills. If he arrives at Manchester, he’ll learn from one of the best defensive head bosses, so this won’t be a problem for him.

There is no doubt that Keita can be a great addition for the future, and if Mourinho knows how to manage the kid, United will have a referent for many years.
