Scouting for Liverpool: Strongest Playing XI Under Jurgen Klopp

The Gegenpress is here! Jurgen Klopp is all but certain to take over the Liverpool manager’s role after Brendan Rodgers was sacked by the Liverpool board. The German has been without a club since he walked away from Borussia Dortmund but he will e hopeful of bringing the glory days back to Liverpool and help them get over the slump that they seem to have hit.

Klopp is known for his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and we look at which players fit the bill for Liverpool when the German does take over.

Simon Mignolet

There really isn’t any other goalkeeper who can do a better job than Mignolet and he continues to be in goal for Liverpool under Klopp.

Nathaniel Clyne

The newly signed right-back has been one of the most consistent players for Liverpool and is the sure shot to keep his spot for Klopp’s team.

Martin Skrtel

Skrtel is the leader of the defence and he cannot be dropped at all if the Reds are to stay in the hunt for a high league finish.

Mamadou Sakho

The French defender has fought his way back into the Liverpool team and should continue as the starter for Klopp.

Alberto Moreno

Moreno would continue as Liverpool’s left-back under Klopp and no one really can take his place at the moment.

Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool captain might be injured but he will be chomping at the bit to get back into the team, especially since Liverpool could be playing full throttle football, something that Henderson is known for.

James Milner

Milner would be played in a similar role in central midfield, he hasn’t been the best player for Liverpool this season and he really does need a boost, maybe Klopp could give him that with Henderson.

Roberto Firmino

The big money signing from Germany could be just up Klopp’s alley with his incredible work rate and attacking ability, he hasn’t been able to show it at Liverpool yet but this could be his time to shine.

Philippe Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho would e played in a similar role to what he is deployed as with Liverpool at the moment, it will be interesting to see his dynamic with Firmino when they are played in close proximity.

Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge might not play in the tip of the attack, but he could play as the support striker just behind Christian Benteke for the Reds.

Christian Benteke

Dortmund had Lewandowski; Liverpool will have to do with Benteke as the focal point of the attack.
