We all know how difficult it is to thrive in the most competitive tournament in the world, as many teams often fall short in their run for the Premier League title, so every move they make (or don’t) during the transfer period often has critical repercussions for the rest of the year.

Today, we’ll take a look at the moves Mauricio Pochettino’s side should be making in the next couple of months if they want to finally take the reins of the Premier League, as his side started the year with high praise but since the injury to Harry Kane, they’ve been struggling to get the three points due to their lack of scoring.

So, we’ll discuss a couple of players that should be dressing in white in January to play for the Argentinian coach.

Isco

Francisco Alarcon has shown several times that he’s arguably one of the most talented midfielders across the globe, but he hasn’t been at his best in the past couple of seasons, and he’s been on bench duty for most of the year.

Even if he’s starting to earn more minutes for Zidane’s squad, Real Madrid crowded midfield is making it very difficult for the Spaniard to be a consistent starter for Los Blancos, and he’s been linked with several teams in the past few transfers market, so you know that there has been a lot of interest around him.

Isco

One of the teams that were keen to acquire him was precisely Tottenham, but Real Madrid constantly rejected their bids for the 24-year-old. However, Pochettino’s still eager to bring him to White Hart Lane, as he could provide great help for Christian Eriksen in the offensive front of the field with his creation and dribbling skills.

Taking Isco away from Real Madrid won’t be an easy task for Spurs, as the youngster is determined to make it at the Spanish institution. However, it wouldn’t be crazy to consider to make a run at a loan for Isco’s services.

Mauro Icardi

The Argentinian striker has been linked with several clubs, as the talented youngster is having a rough time at Internazionale after some altercations with the club fans due to polemic statements he made in his book, so making a run at him won’t be a crazy thing to do even if he’s said dozens of times that he intends to stay at Inter.

Icardi is currently West Ham’s main target for this transfer window, but he would definitely choose Spurs first, as the hammers are currently fighting a relegation battle, while Spurs are making a title run and playing the UEFA Champions League.

Mauro’s one of the best strikers in the world and if you notice the fact that he’s only 23 years old, you know he has yet to reach his prime and could make an absolutely lethal duo playing alongside Harry Kane.
