Scouting For Klopp – Two South American Talents Liverpool Should Target In The Summer

The South American Talents Who Liverpool Should Target In The Summer

Over the years, the South American continent has been the hub for producing some world-class talents in the game of football. Some of the finest attackers in the game of football right now – Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain, Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Coutinho and the list goes on and on; are from South America and the amount of talent there is certainly incredible.

So, it is not a surprise that the teams across Europe scout the South American markets extensively to get their hands on the next best talents who are on the horizon of bursting into the bigger scenes. Liverpool too are believed to be keeping their eyes on talents coming from these parts, with many promising attackers linked with a move to the Anfield over the recent years.

Here we take a look at two gifted footballers from South America, who Liverpool should target in the summer of 2017.

Emanuel Mammana

One of the most promising defenders to have come out of Argentina in recent years, Emanuel Mammana has been earmarked for great things in the future.

The 21-year old centre-back who has been a subject of interest for several big European clubs in the past, moved to French side Olympique Lyonnais last summer and has gone on to make 22 appearances for his new club, chipping in with a goal as well.

A confident young player, Mammana is quite comfortable with the ball at his feet and possesses a good range of passing as well, which would be ideal for the way Liverpool operate. His reading of the game allows him to stay a step ahead of his opponents and this has been a key feature of his game.

Mamanna shares quite a unique record with one of Liverpool’s favourite and finest players in recent years, Javier Mascherano. The Barcelona defender and Mammana are the only two players to have made their international debut for Argentina, without having featured for the youth teams. It goes on to show how highly he is rated in his homeland. With Liverpool struggling in defensive areas, Mammana could prove to be the answer.

Malcom

This extremely talented 20-year old wide player burst onto the scenes in the 2015 Brazilian Serie A campaign, where he played a hand in his former team Corinthians’ triumph, with 5 goals from 29 appearances under Tite, who is now the Brazil National Team coach.

His impressive performances meant that he attracted suitors from the European continent and in January 2016, Malcom sealed a move to French outfit Bordeaux. The winger has been in fine form for his team this season and has managed to score 8 goals from 39 appearances across all competitions, and has also notched up 5 assists.

Blessed with a tremendous amount of pace and good dribbling abilities, Malcom has been used in the wide areas, where he can utilise his abilities to the fullest, to stretch the opposition defences. The 20-year old can also operate through the middle if needed and has shown a keen eye for goals in his fledgling career. With Liverpool lacking out and out wingers in their ranks, the Brazilian could provide some much-needed cover.
