Scouting Arsenal Target Karim Bellarabi: What Does He Brings To A Team?

The Bundesliga is known for its history of providing top talent, the league always has a ton of young players playing their skin off for some of the big clubs and even the smaller clubs constantly churn out players who are technically gifted and can do a job or two. Although Bayern Munich run away with the title almost on a regular basis, there still is a plethora of talent at other clubs.

Bayer Leverkusen is one such club which is having a decent season and one reason for this is the form of the German attacker Karim Bellarabi. The 24-year old has been one of the stars for Leverkusen this season; he also has the record of scoring the fastest Bundesliga goal. Arsenal seem to be linked with this attacker but just who is Karim Bellarabi?

Karim Bellarabi: A rising talent

Bellarabi has played in Germany for his entire career, he started his football journey for local clubs FC Huchting, Werder Bremen and then FC Oberneuland and he finally signed for Eintracht Braunschweig and made his senior debut for the club in the 2008-09 season. His performances impressed Leverkusen who signed him up in 2011.

Bellarabi is an out and out attacker and can play as a winger or a second striker. His preferred position is playing as a right winger, but he can do a pretty good job as a left winger. He has great technique and has a great touch as well often bamboozling defenders with his quick feet. He also keeps an eye open to make that all-important pass to his team mates.

Another great positive about his game is that Karim reads the opposition well and always looks to pressurize them. His doggedness also lets him get more interceptions and he often launches a quick counter attack to catch the opposition out, that is one of his great abilities, the quick pass to launch an attack.

However, his passes are often wayward in the final third; his final output is not as good. Like an earlier version of Theo Walcott, Karim can run with the ball and is a job to watch but his final pass is something to work on. Also his shooting is not the best even though he plays so high up the field, his finishing is rather dire and he needs to work on that aspect of his game as well.

Bellarabi is surely one of the stars of the Bundesliga but if he can make his performances a little more consistent and help out in the attacking third more but creating more goals, he would easily fit into any top teams’ starting line-up.
