Scout Report: Who Is This “New Zlatan” Linked With Real Madrid?

Sports nowadays have adopted a youngster first policy, with the greatest teams in the world trying to pursue younger and younger players by the day instead of looking to bring more experience to their ranks in order to finally find the new Ronaldinho, Maradona, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

Over the past few months, a lad has managed to catch the eye of hundreds of scouts in the world, and there have been several reports that state that there’s a huge bidding war ahead of us when they actually try to sign him.

This guy is dubbed as the “New Zlatan”; a 17-year-old Swede called Alexander Isak, a teenager who is already on the radars of giant European clubs like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United and more recently Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the latter reportedly ready to make a huge push for the youngster during this upcoming summer transfer window.

The AIK Solna forward is reportedly set to be the country’s biggest star since Zlatan, developing his game at the very same club as other former Swede glories like Fredrik Ljungberg and Henrik Larsson once did before making a move to a bigger club.

As we mentioned before, the 17-year-old has been often compared with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, mainly due to his extremely well-developed towering figure and his athleticism, being able to compete with bigger defenders despite his tender age.

The youngster has been with the team’s academy since he was just six years old, only to become the team’s historic youngest goal scorer just a couple of games after he made his professional debut for the Swede institution.

“The New Zlatan” is one of the most talented finishers you’ll find at his age, as he is extremely calm and have the ability to finish with both feet, as well as having a greatly developed aerial game due to his physical characteristics.

However, he could become an even more versatile player than Zlatan is, as he can play both on the flanks, being also featured as a right winger and playing behind the striker at times as well.

The 17-year-old has managed to earn a starting spot for AIK Solna, netting 10 scores and one assist in over 23 appearances for the club, showing how much of an offensive force he can become despite still being a teenager.

Besides scoring, Isak is a very good passer as well, constantly creating opportunities for his open teammates and being a master of the through ball, but he still needs to develop defensive awareness and contribute in that side of the pitch when his team needs him to, but that is something that will come with age.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be a smart move for him to go to Real Madrid right now, as it’s very likely that he will spend the next couple of seasons in their academy stalling his development like Martin Odegaard did, so he should avoid the Santiago Bernabeu at least for the time being if he knows what’s good for him.
