“Quadruple treble on its way”, “Good to watch”: Some Celtic fans react to 3-1 win vs Partick Thistle + Match Report

Scottish League Cup Match Report & Reactions: Celtic FC 3-1 Partick Thistle

Celtic reached the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup with a convincing 5-0 win over Partick Thistle at the Parkhead. This was their 29th successive domestic cup tie victory, which says a lot about their dominance in Scotland.

Vakoun Bayo, Tom Rogic, Olivier Ntcham and Scott Sinclair were the scorers for Neil Lennon’s men on the night, with Ntcham grabbing a brace.

Around the 15th minute, after a fairly even start to the game, Jonny Hayes found his cross perfectly-weighted for Bayo to run onto it and hit the back of the net.

Just after the half-time  break, probably 40 seconds after restart, Rogic finished off a flowing move from the home side that carved open the Partick defence.

Ntcham then scored the first of his two thunderbolts from 30 yards out in the 56th minute to finish the tie off and remove any lingering nerves at the stadium.

Seven minutes later, he robbed Raffaele de Vita on the left-hand side before curling an effort into the far corner to make it 4-0 for Celtic.

Sinclair came on and applied the icing on the cake in 76th minute with his goal. By that moment, Partick had given up and they just surrendered the possession to Bayo, and where Rogic couldn’t finish, Sinclair could in an emphatic manner.

All in all, a very good knockout game performance from Celtic, who weren’t at their best but were lethal in front of goal whenever the opportunities arrived.

Here’s how their fans reacted after reaching the semi-final of another domestic cup competition (they face Hibernian in the semi-final tie):
