Predicted Celtic Lineup To Face Partick Thistle

Champions Celtic will take on 6th-placed Partick Thistle at the Firhill Stadium on Thursday night in the Scottish Premiership.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are unbeaten in the domestic competitions over the course of the season and come into the game on the back of a 3-1 away win over Aberdeen. The former Liverpool manager would want it to stay the same until the end of the campaign. With the Scottish Cup finals less than two weeks away, Celtic would want to keep their momentum going into that game.

Team News

Captain Scott Brown will be available after serving out his suspension. However, star striker Moussa Dembele is still a doubt as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury.

Here is how they make take the field against Thistle on Thursday:

Probable Celtic Starting XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Craig Gordon (GK)

The veteran custodian has been a constant fixture in the line-up for the Bhoys between the sticks this term. No changes expected here.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

The Swede has done a good job at right-back, both defensively and while going forward. Should keep his place ahead of Cristian Gamboa.

Jozo Simunovic (CB)

The 22-year old Croatian has been rock solid recently and will start at the heart of the defence once again on Thursday.

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

Has been impressive at the back and has also been among the goals in recent games. The former Manchester City man should partner Simunovic.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

The 19-year old sensation has been superb over the course of the season. No reasons to bench him for this game.

Scott Brown (CM)

Having served his suspension, expect the influential captain to walk right back into the scheme of things against Thistle, replacing Tom Rogic.

Stuart Armstrong (CM)

Has become the linchpin of the Celtic midfield with his effective displays. Will occupy the second pivot position in the middle of the park.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

The Manchester City loanee may well be playing his last few games for Celtic. Has been excellent in the past few games and will look to cause problems to the Thistle defence from the right-hand side.

Callum McGregor (CAM)

Smart movement in the final third, contributing with goals, McGregor has grown into a key cog. Will operate in the hole behind the striker.

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The top-scorer in the Premiership with 21 goals to his name, Sinclair will look to add a few more to his tally.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

Has stepped up brilliantly in the absence of Moussa Dembele and has delivered for his team. Will lead the line on Thursday.
