Everton

Predicted Everton Lineup To Face Chelsea

After a frustrating draw at the Olympic stadium, Ronald Koeman’s Everton are back in action this weekend in a crunch tie as they welcome league leaders Chelsea to the Goodison Park. The Blues put four past Southampton in the mid-week fixture and a victory in this game will take them closer to their second league title in 3 years. The Toffees still have some work to do if they are to qualify for Europe this season and will have to take something from this game to stay in the race.

Team News

Yannick Bolasie, Seamus Coleman, and Funes Mori remain long-term absentees alongside Aaron Lennon and James McCarthy, who remain the only other injury issues for Koeman ahead of this game.

Probable Everton XI:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ronald Koeman

GK – Maarten Stekelenburg

The first choice for Ronald Koeman this season, Stekelenburg has been in decent form this season and should keep his place in the first team for this tie.

RB – Mason Holgate

The youngster has done a decent job in the place of the injured Coleman recently and should start this game at right back.

CB – Ashley Williams

The former Swansea man has not been at his best this season and Koeman will hope that he can put in a strong performance against one of the most prolific sides in front of goal.

CB – Phil Jagielka

The experienced defender will have a huge role to play against the likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard in this crunch tie.

LB – Leighton Baines

The veteran full back was the best player for the Toffees in the game against West Ham and will have to play a similar role against Chelsea.

CM – Idrissa Gueye

The relentless midfielder has been pushed to the right side of the central midfield for Everton and he should keep his place after a decent outing against the Hammers.

CM – Morgan Schneiderlin

The former Manchester United man has established himself in the first team this season at Goodison Park and should start this game as the deepest of the midfielders for Everton.

CM – Tom Davies

The youngster has also been impressive in the middle of the park for Everton and Koeman will hope that he can match the intensity of N’Golo Kante from Chelsea.

RW – Ross Barkley

The English playmaker had a forgettable outing against West Hama and will hope to put in a better performance this weekend.

LW – Kevin Mirallas

The Belgian was a decent outlet for Everton in the previous game but he will have to be far better in this game against the league leaders.

ST – Romelu Lukaku

The top goal scorer in the league at the moment, Lukaku did not get too many chances last weekend and will be up against a strong defensive unit this weekend.

This is how they would line up:
