Saturday Arsenal Transfer Round Up: Strikers Targetted, Another Defensive Midfielder Linked

Arsenal Transfer News:

Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger in a press conference stated that he is happy with his current squad. As the transfer window goes on Wenger is waiting for his injured players to come back from their injury, namely Danny Welbeck.

“I would prefer to have the players back from injuries,” he said when asked if there would be any more arrivals this month.

“[Danny] Welbeck is two to three weeks away and I am confident I will not find a better player than Welbeck on the market.” – reports Telegraph

The transfer ban on Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid may influence Arsenal transfers. They could enquire about Juventus’s Alvrao Morata, whom Real could buy in the summer if their appeal against the transfer ban is successful.

The Sun reports that Arsene Wenger was keen on signing Morata in 2014, and could try again now that he will not have to compete with Real.

The Daily Mirror has reported Southampton’s Victor Wanyama as Wenger’s main target this January. After Elneny’s transfer, Wenger is looking to strengthen Arsenal’s midfield positions and Wanyama may be the right candidate for the same.

The Gunners’ are also said to be nearing the completion of the deal with the teenage duo Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukueze, further they are also looking to add Walsall’s 18 year old left-back player Rico Henry to their squad.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Finally coming to Arsenal’s long lasting rumour, Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ruled out the possibilities of joining Arsenal this transfer window.

“I still want to achieve lots with Dortmund,” the striker said.

“I am here and nowhere else – not at Arsenal, not at Barcelona, not on the moon – you can see that.” – Concludes Telegraph
