Sane In Left, Walker In Right (3-1-4-2) – Strongest Manchester City Line-Up To Face Everton

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Everton In The Premier League

Manchester City will take on Everton in their first home game of the 2017/18 Premier League season, on Monday night.

The Citizens got off to a comfortable start in the new campaign, enjoying a relatively easy 2-0 win over newcomers Brighton & Hove Albion in the season opener last weekend. Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his team can carry the momentum from that game into the clash against Everton as well.

Team News

Guardiola will be without Ilkay Gundogan, who continues his recuperation from last season’s knee injury. New signing Benjamin Mendy did start training earlier this week, but he is still expected to sit out on Monday. Samir Nasri is ruled out due to a neck injury.

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 3-1-4-2

Ederson Moraes (GK)

The Portuguese did not have the best of the debuts against Brighton, but a clean sheet will have given him confidence. Will be wanting to add another to his tally early in the season.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

The captain looked comfortable in three-man backline, playing on the right-hand side. He is a definite starter for City when fully fit.

John Stones (CB)

The new season will be about redemption for the Englishman after a poor debut campaign last time around. And a strong display against his former club will help him towards that end.

John Stones

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine will occupy the third centre-back slot for Guardiola’s side. Is prone to mistakes every now and then and will need to curb that side of his game.

Fernandinho (DM)

The Brazilian will be the deepest of the midfielders for the Sky Blues. His primary task will be to shield the backline.

Kyle Walker (RM)

The new arrival has had a strong start to life at the Etihad. He will look to build on his impressive start and torment the Everton wing.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM)

One of the best in the business currently, the Belgian is irremovable from the starting XI for the Citizens when he is fit and available.

David Silva (CM)

The Spaniard will partner De Bruyne in the middle of the park. Will be the chief string-puller for Guardiola’s side.

Leroy Sane (LM)

Having been benched for the opening game, we could see the young German talent get the nod against Everton, ahead of Danilo.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

The 20-year old will pose a threat to the Everton backline with his pace and dynamism at the top. Will be looking to open his goalscoring account for the season.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

The Argentine talisman got off the mark against Brighton last week, scoring his 170th goal for City. He will be hoping to add more as he nears the club’s highest goal-scorer Eric Brooks’ tally of 177 goals.
