Saiz On The Left Wing, Vieira Starts – Strongest 4-3-3 Leeds Line-up To Face Brentford On Saturday

Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Brentford In The EFL Championship

Leeds United will look to resurrect their early season form, when they visit the Griffin Park to take on Brentford, in the EFL Championship on Saturday evening.

After a fine start to the new campaign under new manager Thomas Christiansen, the Whites have suddenly hit a poor patch of form that has seen them lose 5 of their last 6 league games, with the latest being a 2-1 loss at the hands of Derby County at home on Tuesday night. The manager finds himself under pressure and the clash against the Bees will be important if Leeds are to turn things around and continue their bid for promotion.

Team News

Midfielder Kalvin Phillips and defender Gaetano Berardi are back in contention for selection after serving out their suspensions. Captain Liam Cooper and on-loan left-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson might return from their injury setbacks, while Caleb Ekuban too is close to a full return.

Here’s how the Leeds’ side might look like at Griffin Park on Saturday:

Manager: Thomas Christiansen

Formation: 4-3-3

Andy Lonergan (GK)

Has wrestled away the No.1 spot from Felix Wiedwald and looks set to continue as the first-choice between the sticks for the foreseeable future.

Luke Ayling (RB)

The 26-year old hasn’t been at his best in the past couple of games. He will need to turn things around, if Leeds are to bounce back strongly.

Luke Ayling

Pontus Jansson (CB)

The Swede has looked the shadow of his self from last season. Needs to get bacjk that tenacious edge in his game if the Whites are to stop conceding soft goals.

Matthew Pennington (CB)

The on-loan defender from Everton is likely to continue in the heart of the defence with captain Liam Cooper’s recent injury problems.

Stuart Dallas (LB)

The Northern Irishman impressed in a makeshift left-back position against Derby in the midweek. Might continue there, despite the return of Berardi.

Eunan O’Kane (CM)

The Republic of Ireland midfielder has seen his form tail off after a great start to the season. Will be intent on getting back to his best.

Ronaldo Vieira

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

The teenage midfielder brings steel to the Leeds midfield with his tenacity. Should retain his place in the line-up.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

The return of the young English midfielder after his suspension will be a boost for the Whites. Will provide added strength in the middle of the park and has the ability to drive his team forward as well.

Ezgjan Alioski (RW)

The Macedonian winger has been struggling for form in the past month or so but needs to be backed as he has the ability to be a game-changer.

Samu Saiz

Pierre-Michel Lasogga (ST)

Leading the line for the Whites against Brentford should once again be summer arrival Pierre-Michel Lasogga. Scored his 5th league goal on Tuesday and will be keen on adding more.

Samu Saiz (LW)

Leeds’ best player of the season so far by a country mile, Spaniard Samu Saiz is a definite starter on Saturday but might find himself on the left-hand side of the attack instead of the No.10 role.
