Leeds United have begun their Championship campaign in fine fashion, winning both games with relative ease. Marcelo Bielsa has got his side working in the way he wanted to, and by thrashing Derby County away from home last week, they have sent out a huge warning to the rest of the teams in the division.
Playing against Rotherham United won’t be a tough ask on paper for the Peacocks, especially because they are brimming with confidence. However, they have to guard against any kind of complacency as the season still has 44 games to go.
The way Bielsa makes his team play at such a high intensity, it was understandable that the Argentine made a few changes for their midweek League Cup tie. Expect the full-strength line-up which started last weekend to take part this weekend too. There are no major injury concerns for the manager to be worried about at the moment, apart from Stuart Dallas, who still remains in doubt.
He has been a bit circumspect at times but should keep his place as the number one for Leeds in the first few weeks unless he commits a blunder or two.
Ayling looks a part at right-back, moving up to support attacks and defending the spaces well. A proper full-back effort under Bielsa.
The centre-back has looked very comfortable in a central role, playing out from the back and commanding the back-line. He deserves a chance to be the first-choice for the Peacocks.
There were doubts before the season started as to whether Cooper will be able to play under Bielsa. The 26-year-old has done well to silence all the critics so far.
Acquired from Wolves this summer, Douglas has proved that Leeds were right in going after him. He provides an extra attacking outlet from the left-back position and has a lovely set-piece delivery to go with.
Phillips has been vital to how his team has played overall. The defensive midfielder has done well to shield the back-line and keep the ball ticking in the midfield.
Saiz has been an inspirational player so far, pressing higher up the pitch, making judicious use of possession and tracking back to help out his midfield partners.
Klich, in tandem with Saiz, has mustered a deadly partnership in central midfield. He has an eye for scoring goals, which adds extra value to his overall game.
The trickster and a chance-creator for Leeds from the right-wing area, Hernandez is a key part of the team. Expect him to continue doing what he does best.
Scored a goal against Derby last week and looked really sharp on the ball by making things happen. He was also diligent enough to track back when required.

Roofe netted a brace to announce himself this season. He works very hard without the ball to close people down and exhibited his quality in front of goal when given a chance. We mustn’t be surprised if he bags a huge number of goals this season.
