The biggest rumour in the recent weeks came up today morning as Spanish daily Marca ran a news that is Falcao moving to Manchester United. According to Marca, the Colombian International is just a step away from joining United for a fee which will be around €50m. This is arguably a bizarre rumour as there have not been strong connections between the player and United in the past. Falcao, who has been linked with several clubs including fellow Spanish club Real Madrid and English sides Chelsea and Manchester City is now believed to be on his way to Old Trafford.
But is this deal even possible?
Having already secured the services of Robin Van Persie and a long term connection with Dortmund striker Lewandowski, a move for the Atletico Madrid star is beyond imaginable. Besides it could also lead to an already crowded attacking line-up further pushing Javier Hernandez’s first team chances. The operation would cost United a total sum of around 55 million Euros, almost double the approximately 30 million they paid for RVP’s arrival Arsenal.

Marca also points out that Atletico have one major problem to look into, as they are yet to pay around €40m agreed at the time of the striker’s transfer and is still owed by Atlético to Porto. Falcao has almost 3 years until his contract expires at Atletico and it will be his decision whether to stay in Spain or move elsewhere as there enough number waiting to sign him.
