Roy Hodgson fielded an almost unrecognisable Liverpool team in European clash
Liverpool became champions of Europe under Jurgen Klopp last season as they lifted their sixth Champions League crown.
The Reds defeated Tottenham 2-0 to win the title and also missed out on the Premier League crown by one point.
Liverpool lost just one game in the league last time around and have started this campaign with five wins from five games.
Klopp has turned the team around into a ruthless winning machine, and they even won the UEFA Super Cup after beating Chelsea on penalties.
The Reds seem set to win more titles with Klopp, but things weren’t always this great for the Merseysiders.
Dark times for Liverpool
Liverpool had trouble with their previous American owners George Gillette and Tom Hicks, and that wasn’t the only problem they had.
Roy Hodgson was the manager of the club, albeit after a great time with Fulham, but one team he put out during a European game shows how far the Reds have come now.
Only Jamie Carragher, Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson and Raul Meireles seem to be quality members of this team.
Carragher, on his best day, might have made this current side under Klopp, which features three of the best attackers in the world.
The Reds also have possibly the best centre-back and goalkeeper in the world, while their full-backs are perfect for their style of play.

Carragher also responded to this tweet and had some words of commiseration for Hodgson from back in the day.
Klopp has really built a fantastic team at Anfield, and gone are the days when David Ngog was leading the line for the Reds.
