Rowett to make 3 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Derby County lineup to face Leeds United

Predicted Derby County Lineup To Face Leeds United In The EFL Championship

Derby County will look to get back to winning ways when they face off against a struggling Leeds United side at the Pride Park on Wednesday night.

Gary Rowett’s side go into the game without a win in their last two fixtures, having drawn 1-1 against Norwich City, before being beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday this past weekend – their first loss in 13 league games. The Rams will be hoping to bounce back and claim all three points against the Whites and continue to fight for an automatic promotion spot.

Team News

Midfielder George Thorne, who missed the weekend defeat against Wednesday due to a back problem, is likely to return for the Rams. However, goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell (finger), Mason Bennett (hamstring) and striker Sam Winnall (knee) are all ruled out of the midweek encounter.

Probable Derby County XI

Manager: Gary Rowett

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Scott Carson (GK)

An ever-present in the Rams’ league campaign this season, goalkeeper Scott Carson will once again take his place between the sticks on Wednesday.

Andre Wisdom (RB)

Having been left out of the starting XI for the weekend fixture, former Liverpool man Andre Wisdom should return at right-back.

Richard Keogh (CB)

An ever-present on the teamsheet for Gary Rowett, 31-year old club captain Richard Keogh will start against Leeds in the midweek.

Andre Wisdom

Curtis Davies (CB)

The former Hull City man has struck up a remarkable partnership with Keogh in the heart of the defence and is a definite starter for Wednesday’s game.

Marcus Olsson (LB)

Another player who was left out against Sheffield Wednesday, Marcus Olsson could be set for a recall in place of Craig Forsyth.

Tom Huddlestone (CM)

The English midfielder has been a permanent presence in the middle of the park for the Rams this term and that is unlikely to change against the Whites.

Joe Ledley (CM)

Despite the return of George Thorne, it is unlikely that Rowett would thrust him into action right away, meaning Joe Ledley keeps his spot in the midfield.

Andreas Weimann (RW)

The 26-year old Austrian attacker has netted 3 times and managed 4 assists in the Championship this term. Will be keen on improving his numbers when he takes on Leeds.

Matej Vydra

Matej Vydra (CAM)

The current top-scorer in the English second division with 17 goals from 28 appearances, Matej Vydra will assume duties as the No.10 for Derby against Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Tom Lawrence (LW)

On the left flank, it will be former Manchester United academy man Tom Lawrence, who should return to the starting line-up.

David Nugent (ST)

Spearheading the attack for the Rams on Wednesday night should be David Nugent. The 32-year old has scored 6 times this term so far and will be hoping to boost his tally.
