Ronaldo, Modric Return – Predicted 4-3-3 Real Madrid Line-Up vs Sevilla

The top two teams in La Liga will meet each other on Sunday in the 18th round of the fixtures as Real Madrid play their second game in three days at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan against Sevilla.

The Los Blancos are currently 40 games unbeaten after their 3-3 draw with Jorge Sampaoli’s side in the Copa Del Rey round-of-16 clash and will look to maintain the run. A potential win over Sevilla on Sunday for Madrid would be a huge step towards their 33rd La Liga title. Real entered the New Year in a fabulous way, demolishing Sevilla in Copa del Rey and Granada in the La Liga clash before leaving it late to salvage a draw against Sunday’s opponent in the second leg of Copa.

Manager Zinedine Zidane rested key men like Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema for the cup tie, but that could all change for Sunday’s match. Here we take a look at how the Los Galacticos could line up on Saturday:

Keylor Navas (GK)

The Costa Rican international has been excellent for Madrid in goal and having sat out for the Copa clash, he will rightfully take his place back on Sunday.

Dani Carvajal (RB)

Carvajal was one of the many key players to be rested for the cup tie. But Danilo’s abysmal showing means the Spaniard should be reinstated to the playing XI.

Raphael Varane (CB)

The French centre-half scored against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the cup match, but was rested for the return leg. He will return in the place of Nacho.

Sergio Ramos (CB)

The Madrid captain was nervy at times in the midweek clash but showed extreme calm when required to score from the spot. He is very crucial for this Madrid team and should feature from the get-go.

Marcelo (LB)

Continues to be one of Madrid’s main attacking outlets and his surging runs down the left-flank will be vital for the Galacticos as they look to extend the lead at the top.

Casemiro (DM)

Has been a constant feature ever since his return from injury and showed his worth in the midweek game. The Brazilian has surely become one of the first names on Zidane’s team sheet week in week out.

Luka Modric (CM)

Having been rested for the cup match, the lynchpin of the Madrid midfield will most likely be reinstated to the starting XI. He has been one of the most consistent performers for the Galacticos this term.

Toni Kroos (CM)

His calmness and assuredness in the middle of the park is a pivotal part of how Madrid play and the German will take the field at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for the second time in three days.

Cristiano Ronaldo (LW)

The FIFA Player of the Year Award winner was rested on Wednesday night but will definitely feature on the left-hand side, having scored in his last Liga appearance against Granada last weekend.

Marco Asensio (RW)

The 20-year old put in an excellent showing on Wednesday against Sevilla and capped the performance with a brilliant goal. Zidane should reward Asensio’s performance with a start on Sunday.

Karim Benzema (ST)

Scored the last-gasp equalizer to extend Madrid’s unbeaten run to 40 games, after coming on from the bench in the second half. He will lead the line for the Los Blancos ahead of Alvaro Morata.
