Back in september, Cristiano Ronaldo made a shocking statement that he wants to leave Santiago Bernabeu in the near future. However the rumor was silenced and there has not been any talks about his situation at Real Madrid. And since then Cristiano Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendes, have not spoken to Real Madrid or to the press about a new contract.
Spanish daily El Confidencial says Real president Florentino Perez has made it clear to Ronaldo that he won’t get an increase on his image rights as it would mean every other player knocking on his door the following day demanding the same.
There was several rumors circulating that the Portuguese International could make a sensational come back to Old Trafford and also their rivals Manchester City are trying to sign the player, however after several interviews from the player and the club has made it clear that Ronaldo is not moving anywhere. And recently in a press conference after Manchester United’s shocking defeat to Norwich City, their boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he wished that Ronaldo was still in his side and that Madrid had got his services for a bargained price.
“I’d like to think it would be [possible to get Ronaldo back], but I don’t think it will be. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money now,” Sir Alex Ferguson said. “What would you think his value would be? He’s definitely unbuyable. Who could afford to buy him? “He was definitely good value for Madrid, but he always wanted to play for them. It was his boyhood dream. I’m not saying he’ll stay there forever, you never know. How do you know we’ve not got a buy-back clause for him?”
Ronaldo and Mendes has not returned to the negotiating table since September, which was when the former Manchester United star informed Florentino he wanted to leave. And with Ronaldo contracted until 2015, Florentino has made it clear to his fellow directors that he won’t be forced into any sale that works against the club.
