Ronaldo And Bale To Lead The Attack: Strongest 4-3-3 Real Madrid Line-Up To Face Bayern Munich

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Take On Bayern Munich In Champions League

Real Madrid will travel to Germany to take on German champions Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League this Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena.

Zinedine Zidane’s men made it into the last eight after beating Italian club Napoli by the scoreline of 3-1 in both the legs of their round-of-16 clash. They will come into the encounter following a 1-1 draw against derby rivals Atletico Madrid and will be eager to get something from this away game against Bayern.

 Team News

Real Madrid will be without defender Pepe, who scored their only goal against Atletico at the weekend and fellow centre-half Raphael Varane is also a major doubt for the game due to a thigh injury. Other than these two, it is a clean bill of health for Zidane.

Here is how Real Madrid could line up against Bayern Munich:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Keylor Navas (GK)

The Costa Rican has been spectacular at times and has made poor errors on a number of occasions as well. But he can’t afford a slip-up against Bayern when he starts the game.

Dani Carvajal (RB)

The Spanish full-back has been one of the most consistent performers for Real Madrid this season. He is an undisputed starter week in week out.

Nacho (CB)

With Pepe and Raphael Varane both likely to miss out due to injury issues, Zidane will have no choice but to call upon Nacho, who has done decently well every time his service has been required.

Sergio Ramos (CB)

Alongside Nacho, it will be the captain Sergio Ramos. He will absolutely crucial for Madrid if they are to keep Robert Lewandowski quiet.

Marcelo (LB)

The Brazilian left-back is another sure starter on Wednesday night. But he might have to curb his natural attacking intent if he is not to be exposed by Arjen Robben.

Casemiro (DM)

The 24-year old Casemiro will provide the steel and the combative presence in the midfield for Real. He has been impressive all season and will hope to continue being so.

Luka Modric (CM)

The Croatian midfielder is a key part of this Madrid unit because of his all-round contributions to the team. Surely one of the first names on the team-sheet for Zidane.

Toni Kroos (CM)

And occupying the third midfield slot will be Toni Kroos. The German international provides Madrid with the calming influence in the middle of the park and will be raring to impress against his former side.

Gareth Bale (RW)

The Welshman hasn’t had the best of the seasons by his usual standards, with injuries playing a part in his under-par campaign. But he will be itching to make a valuable contribution to the team and there would be no better stage than the Champions League for him to do so.

Cristiano Ronaldo (LW)

The 32-year old Madrid star has just scored twice in eight Champions League games this season, which is ridiculously less by his standards. Nevertheless, he is Cristiano Ronaldo and he will hope to score against a strong Bayern side.

Karim Benzema (ST)

Had been struggling for goals earlier this year, but seems to have hit some form, having scored 4 in his last 6 La Liga games. Will hope to carry the same form to Germany.
