Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are set to be one of the busiest clubs this summer as they would be looking to add quality players to their squad, ahead of competing in the Champions League next season. A top class attacker would be the priority and the Blues have been linked with Lukaku and Morata. Both players are playing in different leagues with different styles but have some superb figures to their names this season. It will be difficult for Conte to choose one between the duo but to make it easy, here is a stat comparison of both the players in their respective leagues this season.

Lukaku Vs Morata – The Numbers Game

While Lukaku stands as the first choice striker for Everton, scoring more goals than any other player in the Premier League at the moment, Morata is fighting for his place in the first team at the Bernabeu but has still been productive. The Spaniard has 11 goals and 2 assists compared to Lukaku’s 21 goals and 6 assists this season. But Morata scores at a rate of 1.02 goals per 90 minutes compared to Lukaku’s 0.72. The former Chelsea man has a shot accuracy of 64% which is better than the 58% that Morata has managed this season.

The Real Madrid man has also been a better passer than Lukaku with a pass completion of 78% compared to the 66% by the Belgian at the Goodison Park. However, Lukaku has played 33 key passes, almost thrice as many as Morata this season. He has also created 39 chances for his teammates, compared to just 14 from Morata. But when it comes to averages, both players have created equal chances per 90 minutes played.

Both players are strong in the air and have scored 5 headed goals each while Morata has 2 goals from outside the box compared to just one from Lukaku. Morata has suffered close to 3 fouls a game while Lukaku is now where near with just 0.99 per game. The Bernabeu man has also been stronger in the air, winning 56% of his ariel duels while Lukaku has won just 41% of his duels.

Lukaku and Morata have similar stats and have been equally productive this season so it will be hard for Chelsea to chose between the two this summer.
