Roman Abramovich Wants £22m Real Madrid Star To Replace Lampard, Sneijder To Stay At Inter Milan

Roman wants Modric ?

Luka Modric to Manchester United?
Luka Modric to Chelsea ?

It may not be a big surprise if Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich pulls this one. After initially missing out to Real Madrid for his signing last year. With Chelsea preparing to off load Frank Lampard, Modric could be a perfect replacement. With the experience he has in the premier league, Modric will not require much time to settle down and having already played in London with Tottenham will only help the midfielder’s cause.

It was reported by The Sun which said the Blues owner Roman Abramovich will dangle £22million in front of Real Madrid in a bid to tempt the little Croatian back to England this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a long list of players including Metalist Kharkiv’s Brazilian midfielder Taison and Evertonian ace Fellaini. The former chose to sign for Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday and Fellaini’s pursuit has been put to a hold as Everton manager David Moyes is reluctant to sell his man. The only choice that Chelsea have is to revive their interest towards former target Modric.

Modric who made a £29 million at the start of this season has not enjoyed life in La liga and is yet to settle down and adapt the style followed by Jose Mourinho. Modric has so far scored a single goal in the 14 games he has played in and if Roman comes calling with his cheque book, Madrid wont be forced to stop this transfer from materializing.

Sneijder to stay at Inter according to agent

And it continues

The Sneijder transfer saga has been the most talked about news this transfer window. Chased by English giants Manchester United, the Dutch International was tipped to join Galatasaray. However his agent has branded the move as “impossible”.

“We have not spoken to Galatasaray about a contract, so an imminent transfer is impossible,” agent Soren Lerby told Voetbal International in Holland.

“Wesley and Yolanthe will decide if there should be any further contact. Up until that moment, Wesley will be free to make his decisions.

“Lately I have received many phone calls from Turkey, but I see the international dialling code and reject the calls.

“Inter have a deal with Galatasaray? In all honesty, I know nothing about it. Inter haven’t told me anything. I wouldn’t expect any quick developments, though

So it looks like Manchester United has still got a chance to snap up the midfielder provided Sir Alex  Ferguson is willing to splash the cash and bear his transfer fees.
