Rojo And Martial Starts – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line-Up To Face Liverpool

Manchester United v Liverpool - UEFA Europa League Round of 16 Second Leg

The Premier League this weekend will see one of the biggest rivalries in the sport as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at the Old Trafford. The history between the two sides is enough to make it an exciting contest but the history between the two managers is bound to make it even more entertaining. Jose Mourinho, whose side are now on a 9 game winning streak, will be high on confidence for this game while Liverpool, who are yet to win a game this year, will hope to turn the tables around. With the stakes really high, both teams are expected to field strong lineups for this game and here is the predicted lineup that Mourinho might play for this game:

Team News:

Manchester United do not have too many injuries to worry about as Eric Bailly, who is out on international duty remains the only absentee for this game. The manager revealed that first team duo Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be fit and they are expected to start this crunch tie.

Expected lineup (4-2-3-1):

David de Gea:

The saviour for United on more than one occasion, De Gea is an automatic starter for United in the Premier League this season.

Antonio Valencia:

Arguably the most exciting player in the first leg of this tie at Anfield, Valencia is expected to keep his place as a right-back for this clash.

Phil Jones:

The English defender is the first choice for Mourinho this season and he is expected to start in the heart of the defense for Manchester United this weekend.

Marcos Rojo:

Just coming back from injury, the Argentine defender, who has been superb playing as a center-back, will partner Jones for this game.

Daley Blind:

Even though he lack pace, his brilliant reading of the game makes up for everything and since he was dropped off to the bench against Hull City last time out, we expect him to be in the line-up.

Ander Herrera:

The Spanish midfielder has been in sublime form this season and he will have a huge role to play to keep this Liverpool side quite at the Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick:

The veteran midfielder has added the required balance to the squad that is ticking the game and he should play just in front of the back line for United in this game.

Paul Pogba:

The French international is slowly getting back to his best and he will hope to have a huge impact on this derby.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan:

The summer buy for Mourinho, Mkhitaryan, is in the best form since his move to England and Liverpool should be wary of his ability and should keep him away from danger.

Anthony Martial:

The French international has some decent memories from this fixture in the previous year and Mourinho will hope that he can have a similar impact on the night at Old Trafford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

Having missed the last game through illness, Zlatan is expected to be fit and ready to go and should lead the attacking line for United at the weekend.
