Robben Out, Muller On The Right – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Bayern Munich Line-up To Face Paris Saint-Germain

Predicted Bayern Munich Line-Up To Face Paris Saint-Germain In The Champions League

Bayern Munich will look to avenge their 3-0 defeat when they take on Group B leaders Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, at the Allianz Arena, on Tuesday night.

The Bavarians were condemned to a 3-0 loss by the French capital outfit the last time the two teams met, leading to the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti as Bayern’s manager. But normal services have resumed since Jupp Heynckes took over as the boss and the German champions have been hitting the right notes under their former boss.

Bayern stand a chance to usurp PSG at the top of the group if they beat them 4-0 on Tuesday and that is what Heynckes will be targetting, especially after Les Parisiens were handed their first defeat of the season this past weekend by Strasbourg, in the Ligue 1.

Team News

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer remains ruled out for Die Roten and has been joined by key players Arjen Robben and Thiago Alcantara on the sidelines. The return of Thomas Muller in the weekend’s 3-1 win over Hannover will be a boost for the manager though.

Here’s how the German giants might line up against Unai Emery’s side on Tuesday:

Manager: Jupp Heynckes

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Sven Ulreich (GK)

With Neuer unavailable, the 29-year old should continue between the sticks to make his 19th appearance of the season across all competitions.

Joshua Kimmich (RB)

The highly-rated youngster has been one of Bayern’s top performers this term and should keep his spot in the line-up, at right-back.

Jerome Boateng (CB)

In the heart of the defence, German international Jerome Boateng should start the game ahead of the young Niklas Sule.

Jerome Boateng

Mats Hummels (CB)

Partnering Boateng in the backline should be Mats Hummels. Will have a test against the physical Edinson Cavani.

David Alaba (LB)

Completing the backline for the Bavarians should be David Alaba at left-back. The Austrian did not start the weekend game but should come in for Rafinha.

Arturo Vidal (CM)

The Chilean midfielder should feature in the middle of the park in order to provide a combative presence and bite against the French heavyweights.

Javi Martinez (CM)

The former Athletic Bilbao man has been rock solid since moving back to the midfield role under Heynckes. A definite starter alongside Vidal.

Thomas Muller (RW)

Returned from injury to face Hannover this weekend and grabbed two assists. Will captain the side on Tuesday night and look to have a telling impact from the right flank.

James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez (CAM)

The loanee from Real Madrid should continue to occupy the No.10 role for Die Roten. Is yet to register a goal or an assist in Europe this season and will want to change that against PSG.

Kingsley Coman (LW)

The 21-year old was sensational over the weekend, scoring and assisting a goal each. Will be relishing the opportunity to take his former side on and impress against them.

Robert Lewandowski (ST)

Leading the attack for Bayern against the Parisiens should be goal-machine Robert Lewandowski. Has netted 19 times in all competitions already and could prove to be the difference maker for the Germans.
