Goalkeeper David de Gea was left out of Manchester United’s squad to play Tottenham on Saturday in spite of telling his manager Louis Van Gaal that he is ready to take the field for the Premier League season opener.
According to the Daily Mail, De Gea has also made himself available for this Friday’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa, but is expected to be left out again by his Dutch manager in favour of Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone.
De Gea has trained ‘perfectly well’ over the past fortnight and has not informed to Van Gaal that he would refuse to play for the Red Devils in order to force a move to Real Madrid. Before the match against Spurs, Van Gaal said that De Gea was not in the right frame of mind to play against Spurs and subsequently handed a Manchester United debut to Romero.
